Project Profile: Singleton, Hitch, & Maida

I was lucky to be a Graphic Designer for Lehigh’s Office of Sustainability during a time when the university was (and still is) taking on many ambitious construction and renovation plans. As a result, I got to take the lead on many exciting designs, including this project profile for Lehigh’s newest state-of-the art residential buildings: the Singleton, Hitch & Maida Houses. The sustainably-designed cluster of buildings—which is pursuing LEED silver certification under the LEED-NC v4 rating system—promotes energy and water conservation, environmental stewardship, and resident health and wellbeing.

This project was less about creativity and more about information hierarchy and data visualization, an approach that is drastically different from the typical projects I find myself working on. I learned how to write and design a case study that is clean, concise, and easy-to-digest without compromising any of the essential information—a versatile skill that has lent itself well to my creative work and made me a better designer all-around.
